bogusheadbox Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Over the weekend i was trying to use the 70klm range PR (passive radar?) inertia missile. But for the life of me, i just couldn't get it to lanch. I had the pod attached which gave me a slecetion of targets. I though it may have a height limit before release. I tried locking target with TV. Tried Lasing. But yet, couldn't unleash the fury of the behemoth under my wings. Any help appreciated.
HellMutt Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Anti-Radar procedure 1. Go into Ground Attack mode (7), activate the Phantasmagoria pod (I) (you have to load it onto your plane in the Mission Loadout-screen). 2. Make sure you have an anti-radiation missile selected. 3. You have to position the piper over the targets (radars are indicated with a diamond and a letter, indicating the type of radar) and lock it (TAB => the diamond becomes a circle). 4. You'll get a bar on the left side of the HUD that will tell you when you're in range. When you're close enough, fire. Turn away and evade enemy's missiles if they're shooting at you. I believe there's a good tutorial for this included in FC (Training-section of SU-25 or SU-25T, not sure which) Good luck ! i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, Radeon RX 6800, HP Reverb, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, MFG Crosswind pedals, Thrustmaster MFD's
HellMutt Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 PS : if you're using the KH-25MP, you may have to drop the nose a bit, if you're shooting from high up. I've noticed in the "normal" KH-25L, that your nose has to point to the target, or the missile will not fire. You can see that the missile is good to go when you have a box flashing around the selected weapon in the HUD. i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, Radeon RX 6800, HP Reverb, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, MFG Crosswind pedals, Thrustmaster MFD's
bogusheadbox Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 Thanks guys. I think i know what was throwing me. I had the pod attached. However i thought the pod was constantly on and didn't need activating as the diamonds come up when in ground attack mode without pressing I. So i will give the activation "I" a go and see how it works.
Force_Feedback Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I'm in the mood to do some lomac-ing, if you know what I mean :smoke: Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
dynamocl Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Also note, it is good against long range sams etc. But thinks like the shilka, no good, you can get lock but will always be too late to launch. The weapon will also give an indication of where the enemy EWR sites are, however the weapon will lock on, you will not be given a launch cue. I beleive this is due to the length of the radar waves from this type of emitter and not being able to fire a weapon to guide on these frequencies. I heard that from this site, so you may have to take that with a pinch of salt, as with most things.
