size of the NTTR map increased?

Hi,

 

I just updated to DCS open alpha 2.02 and in my opinion, the NTTR map has increased in its size.

 

From Nellis AFB heading south-west, we can now fly 300NM (!) to the end of the map. Straight to the south 170NM to the edge of the map. There are also a lot of new TACAN stations (west, east and south).

 

The total size is currently 462NM x 416NM. IIRC, it was 320x320 in the former version.

 

Can anybody confirm this or is this just subjective.

Its Alpha, things can and will change as it develops, so its quite possible.

Well, kind of yes, and no. The map was there before, there was really no border, BUT: as far as I know (don`t use F10 map), the F10 didn`t cover as big area as it does now. So, you could fly of further before, but would not be able to see your own position through F10, or kneeboard for that matter. Now however, from the map image you showed, I would suppose it seems bigger.

 

You could however fly before using simple navigation and vectors and get outside of the map coverage.

looks like they expanded the displayed area of the map far enough to include NAS FALLON.. Perhaps they hope to include the Fallon Range Training Complex (FRTC) someday..?
