I just saw this in the guncam footage of bud andersons..... see the video below, at the 1:00 mark he shoots at a 109 with a belly tank and it lights up... the 109 pilot then jettisons the tank.

 

very cool.

 

would this be ridiculously difficult to implement?

Might be something they could do when the Damage Model is revamped for sure...
