Mirage too strong?

Don't own the module yet i will someday. But I can't stop wondering what is so wrong with it's damage model..From the time the mirage was showing as su-27 till today, Mirage in control of human is harder to shot down than even A-10C or SU-25. Are the devs aware of that? How can such a small and light plane sustain so much damage and keep flying like nothing matters??

That's not my feeling when I loose a wing due to R-60 fired at me head-on or when I try to shoot down a Mi-8 whiche takes 2 Magic + 30mm rounds and still fly :music_whistling:

It's no I am inpatient, mostly like a fear that is the way it's modeled

yes it takes some more damage right now but it's also WAY easier to get shot down then it was last patch you just have to give it time to mature.

 

beta aircraft being beta.....ever shoot at a mig-29? talk about another OP aircraft that no one complains about.

Fighting AI I presume? Player planes can't get the R-60 to lock from the frontal aspect.

 

I've used them against both A-10s and the FC3 fighters. Seems to be a one hit kill against the Flanker and the Eagle, but the A-10 can often absorb 2 or 3 before going down. I've not hit a Mirage with an R-60 yet, but a friend of mine did get a hit with a R-3R a while back. The Mirage lost his nose cone but was still able to fly back to base (he crash landed later).

 

Mi-8 has silly levels of durability. I've seen it survive crashes that should have reduced it to a burning wreck with only broken landing gear and damage to the rotor blade tips. It's like the fuselage is made of rubber and just bounces off the ground if you crash.

I presumed Leatherneck made their own definition of R-60 and AI may not used it ?

Mirage is a bit of UFO at the moment indeed. My experience is that it's currently most maneuverable of all fighters in DCS :) Getting a gun solution on MiG-29 / Su-27 / F-15C takes just a few turns after head-on merge.

Well the mirage probably should have the best Instantaneous turn rate of the fighters in DCS atm.

 

It just bleeds speed very fast during hard maneuvering.

 

But if both aircraft has the same amount of speed at the merge and both turn as hard as they can the Mirage should get its nose around first.

 

It will just burn more speed doing so.

 

But also i dont think this thread was about the Flight Model but instead about the Damage model.

In its current incarnation it also has amazingly good sustained turn rate. But yes, enough off-topic :)

One missile hit is usually all it takes to bring my M2000C down, so I can't see how that is so durable. Obviously others are having different experiences against it, but this is just my experience.
