How do I refine this texture?

I created a skin for the F-86 recently, but the markings are very pixelated. How do I scale it up? Here are some shots of it.....

I've only just seen this thread. Short answer is you can't, not without getting the pixelation problems you have already encountered.

 

On my skins I have always worked on the principle of starting oversized and scale down.

Once resolution is lost, it is lost forever. You need a higher resolution source. Or better yet, create it in a vector format and rasterize it at the required resolution.

So does that mean all the writings on the tail that are their need to be done in Illustrator and then transferred to Photoshop?
