The dedicated men and women of Naval Air Station Oceana are proud to present the 2006 NAS Oceana Air Show! Our theme this year is “Salute to the Blue Angels; 60 Years of Aerial Excellence” and it is indeed an honor to pay tribute to the remarkable legacy of pride and precision that have been the hallmark of this celebrated jet team. Crowds will thrill to the aerobatics of Patty Wagstaff, Greg Shelton, Ken Fowler, Bill Leff, Dan Buchanan and more. The sky will also echo with the thunder of F/A-18 Hornets, F/A-18 Super Hornets, the E-2C Hawkeye, the F-15 Eagle, a Fleet Fly By and the dramatic Air Power Demonstration. The British Red Devils and the USASOC Black Daggers will perform their daring precision parachute jumps and the Shockwave Jet Truck will fill the airfield with smoke and flame. The filesize is still too big (~130 kb) - the dimensions(height limit) were ok before, so why didn't you just convert it from bitmap to .jpg format?

 

To get a bitmap version of you image down to the 50kb limit, it would be the size of the one I attached.

Hes trying to tell you, before you shrank it down to its current size, the last one was ok it just needed to be saved as .jpg and NOT .bmp. .bmp files are almost 3-4 times the size of .jpg. If you want to keep the size you had it last, all you have to do is convert it to .jpg.

If it was a .jpg at first, why would it be more than 300kb's??? Alfa posted your sig in the original format. And personally, you need to stop crying about your sig. I can read the forum rules, as everyone else here can, theres no reason why you should get preferencial treatment on forum conduct. And here, its comply or goodbye.

Im also attending. Its going to be very hard for me to watch the F-14 fly for the last time. She is a beautiful aircraft that is being retired long before her tenure (even though its been thirty years). My father is former Grumman/NSAWC, so he will also be watching the sunset with a deep sorrow, having spent nearly twenty years with the Tomcat. A very sad day for both of us. At least she is going out in style. A fitting retirement for the best fighter to ever grace any aircraft carrier deck in the world.

I want to to really bad, but im in VA (5hrs away) and the hotels have yet to fall back down to reasonalbe prices.

 

Last year i was there, and they stated it was the last ever aerobatic display of the Tomcat. So I'm surprized it's happening all over again. (not that im arguing)

 

but I wanna go so bad, It's just the hotel $$ keeping me here :(

I would love to see the last Tomcat display...a major regret of mine is never having seen one for real. Got to crawl all over Kitty Hawk the other week and no Tomcats!

well NEO, if you ARE looking for a hotel, im finding a few near the beach (less than 12 miles) from Oceana for $100 and under for 4 people a night

 

The last few days doing searches on expedia, hotels.com or travelocity all showed hotels in the $200 a night range :doh: (of course, I was looking @ ocean front)

 

Last year prices feel to $100 a night for oceanfront right after labor day (a week before the airshow) but right now they all still show $200 :(

 

 

Please PM me the hotels you've found. I might still go, even if I don't find ocean front.
