Black_Hawk Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 First, sorry if it has been discussed but I'm in a hurry so forgive me :) Is there any way to assign the rotaries on X52 to trim pitch and rudder? Because I set those axis to do it in the game options but with no results. 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Pilotasso Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Have you tryied to define them as either axis or slider? .
Black_Hawk Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 Yes, didn't work, gonna try again... 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Black_Hawk Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 Nope, doesn't work :( 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Black_Hawk Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 I got it working, BUT only on non AFM planes, and I was just starting to like the Hunchback :) 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Black_Hawk Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 Ok, I've got another question and I don't want to open a new thread for it... How can I set an axis to behave like only one engine throttle? I have rotaries assigned to trim pitch and yaw but I also want them to act as left/right engine thrust in another mode (you know, shift+axis or alt+axis). I am using SST so I was hoping that you know to set it up. :) 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
zaelu Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Su25 and 25T dont have in real life trim on a wheel so they dont have in the game either. You could use bands on those axis to make them act like buttons but to remain wheels... but I think it would be time consuming (I turned mines in "target specified size/radar antena azimuth" and "MFD zoom" respectively). Also AFAIK the axis of X52 cannot change the function on different joystick mode. Black_Hawk Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Many thanks for your replies! I have this stick for only 3 days now and I am very satisfied. I still haven't settled with the profile, a lot of work! 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
galgaze Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Also why don't you use the wheel for trimming? Up, Down, and clicking resets the trimmer Works like a charm for me
weasel75 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Because it seems like with AFM the trim can not be assigned to a axis anymore (read: it is ignored). Does it work on your Su-25T? So either you split the rotary into 3 or 5 bands (I have 2 of them for each direction (up/down) with different intervals (250ms/750ms) for the trim) - or you "click" up/down via Coolie-hat (as it is done in the real aircrafts). Sidenote: The argument about the trim on "wheel" - no aircraft in LockOn had a wheel before, but still it could be assigned. Its a bit sad, that the option got removed from AFM, esp. for cockpit-builders or people with a lot of sticks/controlls in general :( Its not like a keyboard is a good substitute for a fully interactive cockpit :noexpression: - so every assignable control-axis helps .... if you dont want to use it for realism's sake - its up to you (as it is with labels, external, etc) ;) EDIT: Oh .. and btw .. can we have brakes (left/right) on axis? ^_^ basic for translators ...
Black_Hawk Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 I don't wanna start a new thread for this: Why, oh WHY can't I center the trim of my pitch with the little rotary? No matter how much deadzone I make, it still doesn't come to the center position. I'm getting used to trimming with my pinkie+HAT1 but this little rotary keeps bugging me. Anyone else with the same thing? 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
graywo1fg Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 are you using the software that came with it? because i just got mine 4 days ago and want to do the same thing  how did you get it to work? Black_Hawk Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 I'm using a combination of SST and axis in Lock On. Read the begining of the thread, you'll find your answer there... 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Black_Hawk Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 Also why don't you use the wheel for trimming? Up, Down, and clicking resets the trimmer Works like a charm for me I tried the wheel, BUT, it just isn't responsive enough - I have to turn it a lot in order it "receives" the command to trim. I even tried making macros for it (interval of 0.1, 0.25 and the other intervals) but it doesn't behave like it should. Would you be so kind and tell me what interval you use? :smilewink: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
