MiG-21bis campaign reallife pilots, events, SFX

I wanna make a 1970's campaign, based on real life historical events, real (former) pilots reenacting voice comms of historical sorties.

 

Such level of detail wont be cheap. Its gonna cost >=€15,000 to produce.

To give you an idea. of the costs;

* Scenariowriters charges €50 per hour x 80 = €4,000

* Soundfx & reserarch also <>€4,000

* Royalties to ED & Leatherneck.. €??

.. etc..

 

To gauge interest, and before i go recruit a team for nothing.. just wanna know what you guys think of it?

Definitely, if the price is reasonable. (For me personally that would be around $20, give or take a few, just to give an idea; that may vary wildly for others, so do some solid research on that first. For most people there's a kind of magic barrier, below which it's a no-brainer for them, and above which they don't buy unless there's an offer later down the line. You can get an idea about that in Starway's Texture DLC discussion thread.)

 

You really have to make the maths first, otherwise you waste a lot of time and money in the end. Maybe check with Letherneck how many times the MiG-21bis has sold, to gauge how big your market is? (Don't know how likely they are to share that info with you and what kind of hoops you'd have to jump through.) Obviously only a fraction of them would buy, but it might give an idea if the numbers can work out at all.

If the quality is right, I will buy it. I've bought most of the other DLC campaigns and since the MiG-21 is one of my absolute favorites in DCS I would buy this for sure.

I don't quite understand the "freemium" comment but I'll put myself down as a maybe. It would have to have replayability value for me.
