I've just finished re-uploading these to my website, editing all the links, etc - took a couple of hours, but it's worth it! I enjoy reading it myself, every now and then! Good for motivation ;)

Anyway, once again, many thanks to Winz for updating the campaign from FC2 to run in FC3 and to ED for allowing him to share it.

I flew this in v1.24/5, so I don't know if it will still work in 1.53

Warning - Spoilers! If you intend flying this yourself, I would strongly advise not reading the AARs until afterwards - otherwise you will learn a lot of tactical info that will spoil a lot of the challenge.

I've been looking for this Campaign, but it seems to have been deleted from the ECS User Files section ... by any chance, do you know an alternate download location for this campaign?

Thanks a lot

Looks like it's been removed and this may well be because it is no longer compatible with the current version.

I am happy to upload it to my Google drive for you, it's about 35MB compressed in 7z.

I'll ask Winz why it has been removed - might save you some time :)

Okay - anyone looking in future, it is still available for now on the original thread:

but at the moment, there is no guarantee it will work with the current version of DCS World.

Thanks to Winz

... I've already downloaded it and installed on my DCS 1.5 ... and the first mission seems to work ok:

Unfortunately, I thought that this was a mission for the Su-25T, but in reality its for the older Su-25 ... a plane that I have not used until today ... I will use this as motivation to learn the older plane as well.

Cheers, and thanks again :D

Hi , pleased you got it sorted. Yes - I flew the first mission today, too - and the only thing I noticed 'wrong' was that, in a Russia v Georgia scenario, the two Hinds in the Russian flight were in the markings of opposing sides!

Small issue, I guess, but it's probable that the paint numbers have been changed - it has happened in the past with other modules.

btw - you do get to fly 2 missions in the Su-25T in this campaign, though one is just training.

I didn't even noticed that ... guess I'm still a newbie when it cames to aircraft liveries :)

Ahh .. that's great, even tough it might take a while to get to them, since I'm able to play only on weekends.

Thanks again, I'm really glad to be able to keep playing my older aircrafts, while I save $$$ to purchase the F-5 module :)

Cheers!

You're welcome, Rudel.

While we're at it, I noticed that you have 50% success rate after this first mission. tbh you should try and get it up to 100%, because if you drop below 50% you will have to repeat the last mission and won't be able to continue with the campaign.

As there is so little to get wrong in this mission, I'm wondering if you landed at the wrong airfield? It's quite easy to do - I did it myself the first time I flew it. If you landed at the same airfield as the Flankers, it's the wrong one - it's about half way to where you actually want to be. If you are not used to the Su-25 "steam-gauge" navigation, it's an easy mistake to make, as you see other aircraft landing there.

If you look at the mission flight plan image on this page:

http://www.c9114110.myzen.co.uk/dcsw/FC3/revanchemis1.htm

you can see that the first airfield you come across is "Gudauta" - but you want to fly to the next one, at "Babushara" - it's easy to mix them up, because they are both on small peninsulas. The easiest way to tell is to either check the F10 map - but if you don't like doing that, you just look out for Sukhumi town.

You will know it is the right one, because the Su-25Ts will be on the parking ramp (they should land just before you do - though one or two of them often crash).

Hope this helps and you have fun with the campaign - one tip for you - use your wingmen!

Edit - I just remembered - you get a briefing (in Russian with English text onscreen) from your commander - that happens between the two airfields, so if you didn't hear it, you didn't go far enough - it finishes just before you come to the Babushara boundary.

Thanks a lot for the tips ... On the first mission, I actually just flew around while I bound buttons into my Hotas, since it was my first flight with a Su-25A I didn't have it programmed properly ... while doing this I crashed into my wingman by mistake :(

On the next try I hope to get it right, and will take into account all your advise.

No worries - in fact, when I flew it again last night, the in-flight briefing didn't play - maybe because I didn't follow the waypoints, but it looks like there may be some minor issues.

I recorded most of my flight:

Edit: Nope - I flew it again this evening and that briefing is definitely AWOL in this version of the sim.
