A developer need interacting with DCS World community. Going apart to fix bugs is get isolated from a big part of the DCS community and a big part of Mig-21 module owners. Me and some other Mig-21 owners never report in bugtracker page. There you know.

Actually, a developer needs to interact with their users. LNS has chosen their method for doing so. They cannot be blamed for users who choose not to take part.

BugTracker affords LNS (or any developer, for that matter) a dedicated form for reporting, discerning, and addressing bug.

It's objectively superior to an occasional forum post of "This is wrong!!!!!!!!1111" without tracks, screenshots, or references.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

Personally speaking. as a developer in a different industry, a structured bug report via a dedicated tracker is infinitely more useful than some of the emails I get at work, and much more than a lot of the bug reports I see on these (and other) forums.

THIS. THIS. So much THIS.

Keywords: "structured bug report".

The most important part of a bug report isn't the part where the feature doesn't work. The most important part is all the steps that occurred leading up to the problem.

And I still remember my old boss restraining me from biting the heads off of beta testers for giving me summaries of "what I think is causing this bug" without any of the actual reproduction (he literally had to point out that the beta testers were volunteers, and if I liked, I could earn their salaries instead).

Probably the only way to describe it to people who haven't been there is to tell them to go watch Apollo 13 and watch Ed Harris's character: "We're going to take this step by step, and none of us are leaving this building until we've solved it".
