Does anybody have such system or just fx-55 and what are your FPS on highest settings? Can you play the game flawlessly? Because the most powerfull rig i saw here was that of EvilScotsman (Athlon 4800+).

Hey there...

I have a Opteron 165 @ 2.6Ghz paired with a 7800gt. I run Lomac with most everything on high at a resolution on 1680x1050.

I think i get an average of 40 fps in normal combat conditions. Could be more or less.

What i think you're getting at is, why doesnt lomac run at 150fps on your rig? Wellllllll that will be answered by someone who has more knowledge than me but what it comes down to is that Lomac is very very CPU dependent. I think even the new Intel Conroes serve up a 10% boost (not toally sure.) Lomac will someday run at 150 fps while you're spooling up at gudauta but by that time you'll be much more interested in another ED flightsim.

Cheers!

yup, you said it perfectly Fudd..

Lockon is CPU dependent. I have an opteron 170 @ 2.8ghz and play @ 1920x1200 all maxed out @ around 30FPS//

look @ my sig for specs.

Put the water on medium, no mirrors, heat blur off and do not exaggerate AA/AF and your rig will rock in 16x12+ …

I dont own such brutal system Im just asking in advance because someday I will buy such system and want to have everything maxed out. Therefore I ask if somebody has similar rig to this. Water on very high, maxed vis. range , mirrors on max, heat blur, full AA/AF...I think such system should deal easily with that. After all its all mighty FX and brutal 7900GTX. OK maybe not vis. range but who knows?

Offtopic: To increase quality of scenery and increase frame rates get rid of that transparency. Modify values in graphics.cfg line Fogparam2=1.1 to 0 and other values also near zero. Should be a major improvement when flying over cities.:smartass:

Got an Opteron 146 OC'ed to 2,8 GHZ and a OC'ed Nvidia 7900gt 1280 x 1024 running with mirrors, heat blur, civ traffic everything

else on max exept water on mediun ( cause i think it looks best that way, higher settings look way to glossy to me )

and Vis-range,the worst of all FPS killers, on low.

I have compensated the low Vis-range by tinkering with the " optimizations" options in the LOCFG tool.

I get 30 - 60 everage FPS depending on if im flying offline for myself, or more complex online missions with loads of Air and ground targets.

CPU: Pentium 660 64EMT @ real 4Ghz

Mainboard: Abit Fatality AA8XE 925XE @ FSB 1140MHZ

Gainward 7800 GTX Golden Sample

1GB Corsair 8000UL @ full 760MHZ

Settings in Lomac are Full on 1600x1200 excepted Water is only high

and Mirrors are off

LOD Land and Night and MFD 15000-35000

Cockpit over land low combat ~ 50-80 FPS

Looking up to sky with clouds ~150-200 FPS

but if Scene and Visib Range both on high and flying over a big City low not more then 18FPS

i really wonder if they change the crapy coding of ground objects in BS and they are not transparent anymore.

May i ask...why are you planning for an Fx-55? Im not sure of the numbers in your cost benefit analysis but I think it would make more sense for your future system to have one of the 4mb Core 2 Duo's... They're quite impressive

Also, I cant think of any meaningful situation where mirrors would be useful.

I wish this game would be GPU dependent but thats the way it is

I have the 7900gtx but an amd dual core 4400 though.

My settings are everything "very high" cept water on "high" and i get average fps of 50-60. Graphics are beautiful and flawless. If lockon supported dual core processing my fps could jump a notch i guess.

Edit: I get 170-190 fps while looking at the sky. Pretty much the same range of fps both in the pit and external view.
