I have a tool wich can import and export most popular model formats.

If you are using other people's work - freeware or payware, then please make sure you have their permission first before sending them flying all over the internet(!).

Its payware and password activated. I can try converting the models but the MDL files are not listed as quake or HL2 models. Dunno if the format is quite the same.

Its a bit heavy on the pocket though. I have an older version that I used for Freespace 2 space SIM model convertion from homeworld and other games.

 

But before you rush buying it I can try converting first. Im not sure if MS specific formats are supported. Could you post a model example?

Thanks, but all my models are payware so i can't give those but i believe its the same format as freeware. Just download any model off of here http://www.surclaro.com/downloads.html

 

or any other MS2004 fan sites for that matter

 

And thanks for the headsup strikemax, i won't purchase this software unless i am for sure that it works with MS2004 models. While on that subject, is there any software out there that can covert .mld to .3ds, or even better .lom to .3ds.

Google for mdl2dx4 its a free utility to convert fs .mdl into .dfx

 

Please note that those utilities are not 100% successful. many ouput files get corrupted in the process, depends

on how they were created , Gmax or a different software.

hmm, that just sounds crazy enough to work. lol alright ill give that a go, thanks. but payware models are so beautiful. FPS killers? - oh yes, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make lol.

One thing that sucks is that this plugin in came out like 2 weeks before my school starts. So i have to balance my schedule between college and trying to learn 3d max...etc.

oh yea i remember gulfknight site but those models were for Jane's USAF, and IIRC, that's far below lock on's standards. But nice find, i haven't played that game in ages. Gulfknight does a lot of modeling.

Earlier in the thread, some folks had mentioned using models from other games, even payware FS models. Using models from FS or SFP1 or ANY other game and distributing them is usually prohibited without consent from the authors.

 

As far as payware from FS is concerned, you can probably kiss that idea goodbye. I don't know of ANY 3rd party payware developers from FS that will allow you use their models in this game and distribute them to people. If you own a payware product and want to mess with it for your own use, I don't think there's any issues with that (I'm not totally sure though). But if you want to distribute it, that's a whole other story, and is usually illegal.

 

I would highly recommend not using models from other people and putting them into LOMAC and distributing them over here without their consent. With regards to payware FS models, I wouldn't even waste my time asking the developers if you could use them.

 

Just a heads up. :)
