Rhinozherous Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Hello! This is a little "imagine experiment" I dont know if this already a topic or so... I watched an documentary about the burk class destroyer and aircraft carriers. It comes to my mind that it would be awesome to have more naval action in DCS. MAP(S) First there should be a map with a lot of open sea, I think this should be not that much PC resource intensive. Just water, no land (maybe other maps with little islands..) and coordinates. It should still be a real world place, like in the pacific or so to have real coordinates. UNITS At this point I am not sure which of our actual aircrafts and helis are capeable of carrier operations? I know that some of them are. And for the future the Tomcat for example... Maybe this can lead to new other modules. For example Anti Submarine Helos? - this leads me to another new unit, submarines. Not super enhanced for sure, but maybe steerable via the F10 map like combined arms and via the editor. Another thing should be the carrier. Maybe one of the developers is doing a carrier as a module. Usable weaponsytems and sensors, managing the aircrafts (loadout, coordinating the starts and landings). This should be an interesting thing in multiplayer. Than other ships, destroyers, frigattes, cruisers in the same way as the carriers F10 MAP For the ships I think it is a good way to enhance the F10 map for using the sensors and weapons, manage the bunch of action going on on this swimming citys. I think about new windows as popups or so (multiple monitor usage) ...I am dreaming of sitting in the central of a carrier with a lot of monitors and blinking lights :D. To be honest, enhancing the F10 map comes to mind because I recently started with Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations. This is what I thought about, maybe not that realistic in terms of developing and so on, but hey maybe we can talk about such things and someone can use this for future things.
