Raz_Specter Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) Hi Guys I am thinking of ordering another 1080, I have the EVGA 1080 Founders Edition atm, along with the Oculus Rift CV1 I am a chopper pilot, which is what i love to fly. I normally fly either the KA or the Gazelle, in the Gazelle I am getting on average 35 to 60 FPS depending on where i am and what is on the screen in the rift. In the Mirage at angels 30 I get between 80 - 90 no issues. but as i said i am a helo pilot which is what i love. So would adding another 1080 help with the frame rates? if not at this current time what about in 2.5? Is SLI being thought about / Coded? I have attached my settings which i dont really want to compromise on as I love eye candy. Although i would like to max everything out in the rift as before i was flying in 4K with everything maxed without an issue. I have my pixel Density set to 1.8 Edited July 6, 2016 by Raz_Specter Custom built W10 Pro 64Bit, Intel Core i9 9900k, Asus ROG Maximus Code XI Z390, 64GB DDR4 3200 RGB, Samsung 1TB NVme M.2 Drive, Gigabyte AORUS 2080TI, 40" Iiyama Display. SkateZilla Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Oculus' API Does not Support Multi-GPU, you'd be wasting money. Enduro14 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Not always the case it double my frame rate in 2.0 just have a stutter problem over Vegas. Back to vr evidently with steam vr aka the Vive if you force Alternate frame rendering 2 in the sli portion of Nvidia control panel have seen reports of almost double the frames in VR. People will have to try it as I don't have vr yet. Or if anybody in Germany want to bring their Vive over I could test it :) Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
PeachBoy Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 The average usage of GTX1080 in vr is almost 60% - 80%. Low fps is not caused by your GPU, it's caused by the engine which can only use one CPU core to process all the things except sounds. You couldn't gain any fps increased by adding any other GPUs, unless you had a 10GHz cpu.
