MegOhm_SD Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Best Fighter Jock? Some like competition, some do not. For those that do... You need a ladder like we had in that certain F16 Sim. Kind of surprised there hasn't been one yet for DCS. If there ever was...I missed it. Goes like this or some similar iteration. For 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 (Team) Separate Ladders for singles and teams. Same aircraft with same load out. You run three scenarios three times each. 2 out of three wins each scenario. Winner is the pilot or team that takes 2 of the three scenarios. Missions could be created for the 3 scenarios. Scenarios: 1. Guns Only: Start Airborne head to head at Angels 15 at 15 nm. No firing until after 1st pass. If no kill and You run out of fuel, crash or land first you lose if the opponent is still flying. 2. 2x IRs and Guns: same as 1. Free Pass 3. 2X IRs, 2X Radar Guided and Guns: start Airborne head to Head at Angels 25 at 25 nm. No Free Pass. Anything goes. Can become cat and mouse and take awhile. Would be great if a Virtual Squad or an individual would Sponsor, take this on and track stats. Or even ED. The way it worked was wins earned you rank. You could challenge anyone with your rank or a rank one step above yours. A certain criteria (wins) would earn your rank. That is how you ascend the ladder. This was a blast back in the day of that certain sim. *Rage* Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 We need more regular events in my opinion. It's difficult for organisers though as DCS is always in a state of flux. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
MegOhm_SD Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) http://sa-sim.com/ Ah very similar...got it covered then! My SA is very poor! But I always liked the old Ladder System with those 3 Scenarios. Kudos to Shahdoh and Company! Pilotasso Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 we used to have a ladder based on statistics a few years ago when we had proper export functionality for that. However many people disliked the stats existed and argued that was just serving egos and changing the way people fly. .

The fun thing about the old ladder was actually the flying of the scenarios. That was fun. Stats didn't matter so much unless you wanted to make Colonel or higher. FLANKERATOR Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Almost any video game can be approached competitively, really nothing wrong with that. It's a sport...e-sport, plain and simple. This community has unfortunately always been plagued with unnecessary sensitivity when it comes to online competition, thinking that people want to show off or something, I have never understood why. Fortunately though, there are a lot of folks down here with the right attitude, who fight tooth and nail yet know how say good kill when outclassed, it is because of players like this that we are still alive and kicking to this day.
