CoBlue Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) On final approach at 350Km/h fully configured, wing-rocking & roll instability. Hard to keep wings level during approach. Can't get precise control. Very noticeable when flying an PRMG approach in IMC. You end up chasing the needles. Easily bounced landings with pitch up tendencies on touch down. You can't no longer land decisively, it's back to "gentle sail-plane" landings. Also the floating seems exaggerated before touch-down. Very different from previous FM. My recommendation... test again in VMC. Chasing needles is a common error for IFR-IMC approaches... not a good situation to test a FM.
Pocket Sized Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 It looks like dutch roll. Adverse yaw from the ailerons causes an opposing rolling moment and makes precise directional control difficult. Easiest way to fix is coordinate aileron with rudder or just make smaller adjustments and allow the aircraft to drift a bit. DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.
howie87 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 What kind of fuel load are you trying to land with? I just tried a couple of times with 30%, 4 missiles and countermeasures and it seemed fine. There is some slow speed roll instability but it doesn't seem particularly pronounced. I was flying in VMC though and imagine it could be trickier to correct for accurately in IMC.
humptydumpty Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 I think just b4 the threshold i get the dutch roll. but sometimes she is quite stable can't figure why. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Attitude Power Trim Power Attitude Trim Wing Commander SWAC
