blackturbo Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 hi all, i just installed dcs on an older pc. it is , or was a higher top of the line dell gaming pc that was 4,000$ new, it is xps 720 with core 2 extreme 3.0 ghz, with radeon 4870 x2 with 2mb of video ram. the machine came with windows vista but i upgraded to windows 7, flashed the bios to latest upate. so I meet all the min requirements for this game. the game does play, but everything but the outside world is invisible, if join in an f15, i join the game fine, but i dont see my plane, or any cockpit instruments, and when i look at other people, all i see is the world. i cannot see any planes or tanks/ground vehicles. is there a setting somewhere. or should i just reinstall windows 7 and this game all over again. thanks. i really dont wanna reinstall the whole sytem again.

dburne Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 The first thing that stands out is that video card, I believe it only supports up to DX10. DCS is DX11. Also note DCS is 64 bit only now - is your Windows 7 64bit or 32? blackturbo Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 ok, the machine is windows 7 64 bit. and thank you for saying the 4870x2 only supports dx10 maybe thats why. the graphics are really good, but i just cannot see cockpit textures or vehicles or planes.
