hansangb Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 LOL! But if it can drive 4X 4K at 120Hz...that's the ticket for VR! :) Only $4,000! hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
NeilWillis Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Trouble is, it is porobably too big to fit in my case, and I'd never be able to persuade the missus it'd be a good investment!
Kuky Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 pffft... so get a full tower case, small price to pay compared to price of the VR headset, the video card, and the rest of the main PC components ;) Real "Problem" is VR is not 4K yet, nor do we have PC's that can run it at 4K in VR at good FPS :) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
BobFlex Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I don't think we even have cables that can support 4K VR at 90FPS yet lol i5-6600K (4.7GHz) || Asus Z170-A || EVGA GTX 1080 FTW || 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury 2133 DDR4 RAM || Samsung 850 EVO, Seagate Baracuda 1TB || LG 27UD68 4k Monitor || TM Warthog HOTAS (serial 57210) || MFG Crosswind || HTC Vive A-10C | M-2000C | F-5E | UH-1H | Mig-21bis | F-86F | P-51D | FW-190D9 | FC3 | CA
adrianstealth Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Will it run crisis with shadows on medium maybe?
SkateZilla Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Driving 4x 4k 120Hz displays and Rendering 4 Scenes At 4K 120Hz are 2 Different things... I can plug in 6x 1440p Screens at 75Hz on my Lightnings, But no game will render on all 6 at 75Hz. Also, Workstation / Pro Cards..... Not Designed for Gaming... At All... Rendering Video and CAD at 120FPS doesnt mean it will render DCS at 120FPS. j0nx Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 DCS is cpu limited. It's topped out at a 980ti for now. My 1080 gives me zero performance increase in DCS VR over my 980ti even with 1.5-2.0 PD set. The sim just won't use the extra gpu power. SkateZilla Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 If you're gonna drop 10K on a Graphics Card, Get the new AMD SSG :-), Put DCS Directly on the Solid State Drives on the Graphics Card, Linked Directly to the GPU, Bypassing Latency and Bottlenecks of M.2 and System Chipsets. :pilotfly: Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
hansangb Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 The 3 smiley face was supposed to denote that it's more of a wishful thinking. But the good news is that Moore's law will catch up even for video standards and in the next 3 years, we will have glorious VR! But man... that SSG with built in SSD is a BEAST!! hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
