bkthunder Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Since I have a warthog, which lacks any rotaries on the throttle (yes I, know, some people use the "friction" axis, but that's not really practical IMO), I had the idea of mapping the radar elevation to the ministick Y axis. The problem is, the elevation returns to center when the ministick is returned to center. So, I thought of using the option of "relative axis" in TARGET, which prevents this, BUT, I have to make a profile, and the M2000 lacks default key mappings for some important functions. So the other alternative is to use the script editor (as far as I understand), but that's way too difficult, unintuitive and time consuming, considering I only needed to map ONE thing. (I have tried to play around with sedenion's profile and the 128DX buttons, to no avail given the complexity of the whole script editor thing). So I kindly ask you, if that's something that depends on you, to make the radar elevation behave in the same way the radar cursors do: when I release the stick, they stay where I put them. feefifofum Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) TDC on ministick, elevation on coolie. No need to make it an axis esp if you want it to stay where you put it, plus you can slew diagonally if TDC is on the ministick. Crisis averted. ;) Edited July 31, 2016 by feefifofum THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
bkthunder Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 Script editor is learnt in a few days if you actually look into it. Just saying. :) The problem is I don't have a few days. The little free time I have, I'd like to use my flight sims rather than scratching my head over lines of code... especially if this is all to change just ONE thing. TDC on ministick, elevation on coolie. No need to make it an axis esp if you want it to stay where you put it, plus you can slew diagonally if TDC is on the ministick. Crisis averted. ;) The elevation on coolie is bad. It's bad because it's not as fast as I need. It's very slow actually. The ministick would be closer to an actual rotary, the more you press, the faster the elevation moves. Just personal preference I guess, having an option can't hurt no?. My request remains ;) Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s
feefifofum Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Eh, whatever makes ya happy. :) Just offering an alternative. Good luck! Perhaps you can edit a .lua to adjust the slew speed of the non-axis antenna elevation bindings more to your liking in the event your sticky axis doesn't make it in. Svend_Dellepude Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 The ministick would be closer to an actual rotary, the more you press, the faster the elevation moves. The ministick on the WH does a very bad job at what you ask for because of the very limited travel it has (I tried). Even though it is analog, it behaves much more digital. You will be much better off programming the coolie in TARGET to control a virtual axis and there, set the speed of axis movement to your liking. That still involves making a profile, which I would have already done, but as I said there are functions in the M2000 that miss a key binding.
