promitheas Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 So, after completing the tutorial missions that come with the Su-27 module, I now feel like I need to practice to get better at the concepts in the tutorials. The problem is that the tutorials are good for explaining stuff the first time around, but after it just takes too long to for example to reach your target and practice CCRP bombing (the dude just talks too much). So my question is, does anybody know of any missions where I can practice the tutorial's concepts immediately after starting that mission. Say for example I'm practicing CCIP, I start the mission and a few KM ahead of me there are always a bunch of trucks for target practice. I hope I'm not too confusing, ask me for any clarification. Thanks guys :joystick: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Dogfights are not numbers it's a dance"
DarkFire Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Ask and ye shall receive :) The attached mission is for practising iron bomb delivery. Very much still a work in progress and certainly not up to my usual standard, but it does what you want. Not quite instant though - you'll have to take off and fly to your targets but that isn't necessarily a bad thing: you'll be cruising (85% RPM for cruise) at >750 Km/h anyway so having a few Km to carry out an effective approach is useful. Hope you get some use out of it. Drop the mission in: C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions Edited to add: this mission has been a WIP for months. I need to get off my backside and finish writing it properly. Job for tomorrow. Also, I don't have\Dcs.openbeta\... just \DCS\ Will that make a difference? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Dogfights are not numbers it's a dance"
DarkFire Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Thanks for that! Also, I don't have\Dcs.openbeta\... just \DCS\ Will that make a difference? No, that'll be fine. Works equally well with the beta & stable release versions. Your path will be: ...\DCS\Missions\ System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Stuge Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Once you learn the editor basics (not very complex) it is easy to make any kind of simple scenario like this. Attack any unit you like or make units fight each other and get the popcorn :) Hint: put the Moskva missile cruiser in weapons range of a group of US ships and enjoy :):):) Btw I saw the Moskva live just a few days ago, in Sevastopol, it was a celebration day for the Russian Black Sea fleet! :) http://www.104thphoenix.com

Stuge Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Wow, that must have been impressive! Is he still the flagship of the black sea fleet? It sure is! :) There were a bunch of warships nicely lined up in the Sevastopol bay, and once the sun set they were lit with lights like christmas trees :D I missed the air show that happened earlier that day though, it was too early :( Sorry strayed offtopic but what can you do :) http://www.104thphoenix.com

Stuge Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Hmm very nice Ironhand, though I now kinda regret not being there in the morning... live fire of many weapons and these dipping sonars (?) from the helos damn :) If I visit Crimea again (and I hope I will, had a wonderful holiday), I need to book a hotel in Sevastopol for the night before to see this naval show in the morning! Also need to plan trip to Moscow next year to see MAKS air show that is awesome!! http://www.104thphoenix.com
