Snacko Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Has something changed? I cannot get the Gazelle to manually start. Here's what I do: Close Doors: RCtrl+C Batt, Alt, Gene : ON Fuel Pump (POMPE) : ON (M) WAIT 20 Seconds Starter Switch : M (Up) - Green + Yellow Lamps light up At this point I don't get the lamps to light up, and the RPM gauge goes nowhere... Nothing happens. :joystick: Here's a track. I have done a Repair, but that didn't help. What am I doing wrong? Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download
Snacko Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 After a few more minutes of banging away on this I did get it to start. But I am not sure exactly what is wrong. I thought that maybe I must have to 'hold' the right mouse button down for a few seconds (like some starter switches require holding a bit). It started that time. So I tried it again, and it didn't work that time. So, I just tried flipping the start switch up and down until the lamps lit and that seems to work sometimes too.. A track is attached again of the multiple flipping and holding of the mouse button (on first time). Pheonix0869 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Yeah after the fuel pump you should release the rotor brake (big red handle) then wait 15 sec then engage starter, wait until rpm (i think) reaches ~2100 then increase throttle until the blades start to spin... wait some more, until both needle are even and then slowly increase throttle until full. Boom.
Snacko Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 That doesn't help. It still acts flaky. Anybody else have suggestions? Is there any problems with the module install? Devrim Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Hi. I watched 2nd track, but it ended in the middle of sequence. No, I don't think it's module installation. You turn the Starter Switch on too early! Wait 20~30 secs after turn on Fuel Pump Switch. After turn the Starter Switch on, wait for stable engine (RPM), Rotor Brake Off, Push Engine Fuel Level a little forward - not much!. Rotor will start to turn. Check the RPM needle. It catches the Rotor needle. Now continue to push Fuel Lever forward "slowly". Check the needles. They must increase together. When max., you may enable other devices; Gyro, AutoPilot etc... By the way; You can adjust the devices on the dash, while waiting for fuel pump. Snacko Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 I never get the Starter lamps or any RPMs at all. I just removed the module and reinstalled. Still doing the same thing. So I made my own mission and tested it. Same thing. So, I tested an Auto Start (LWin+Home), and that did not work either. The lamps didn't come on and there were no RPMs! The Auto Start said 'Waiting for RPM Sync' or something like that twice, but there we 0 RPM. They never sync'ed. Auto Start continued through all the switches and said AUTO START SEQUENCE COMPLETE. But I had no engines, no rpms, it didn't start. And I don't think Poly want's any bug reports until the next release, so this is FUBAR... Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download
Ramsay Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) I never get the Starter lamps or any RPMs at all. ...... And I don't think Poly want's any bug reports until the next release, so this is FUBAR... It's a bug that's shown up before, when people map the fuel control lever to a jittery axis without a dead zone and/or their joystick doesn't quite return to zero. I watched your first track and saw the missing starter lamps. Changed the track to a .miz and started the engine, then repeated with the red rotor brake released and a small application of the yellow fuel control lever [Page up] - as in your track, the engine start lamps fail to light and the engine doesn't start. IIRC the work around was to add a dead zone to the top/bottom of the axis or not to map the fuel control to an axis. I'll post a link to the original bug report when I find it. Found it but it was about being unable to engage auto-hover - still, your problem *may* be similar ? http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2769920&postcount=24 Edited August 13, 2016 by Ramsay i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Devrim Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 That's quite interesting. I don't see any HOTAS in Snacko's signature. Do you have it Snacko? Snacko Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Yes, I have a x55. @Ramsay - As I was going to bed last night I was thinking about removing my Throttle assignment to my Bell Collective. It's not jittery, but though it might be a problem. So I removed the assignment and it works now! And I used your suggestion and added a dead zone and now it works again with the controller too.
