wepper Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Hi, there. Is it possible to change the runway in use manually (Mission Editor). At the moment it seems to be fixed. I tried with wind settings, but no effect. In Nellis the Tower gave me runway 03 for takeoff with 20m/s tailwind. Sorry, if this question was asked before but I didn´t find it.
ESAc_matador Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Depends on the wind when two available runways. Some runways only work with one way in RL and that is simulated Edited August 23, 2016 by ESAc_matador
wepper Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Tried it out with several weather settings. In the NTTR the Runways never change. Can anyone verify this?
Rakuzard Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The ATC system (especially in 2.0!) is subject to change and does currently not work as one might expect. As of now, the runways in 2.0 are fixed. ATC can't handle more than one runway at the time. :) - Deutsche Tutorials und DCS Gameplay: youtube.com/Rakuzard | raku.yt/discord -

DudleyAz Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Just a bump on this topic. I was reading in other posts that wind direction/speed will be used to select your runway. This is true on most runways, but Nellis is a unique case in that they have a hard rule to not allow departures from 21 to avoid overflying the strip. So regardless of the wind speed you will be told to takeoff from 03 and land on 21... if you choose to listen to the tower that is! :music_whistling: If it worked perfectly... what's the fun in that? :joystick:
