I agree, it has to be the best sounding jet out of all the modules!

Nice to see this sometimes, Instead of mostly people saying

"Oh I want the Engine sounds to be even louder"

"Omagherd YOU DON'T HEAR ENGINE WHEN IN THE COCKPIT, needs to be reduced !!!"

"Oh there is this slight Buzzing noise every 1 minute in 'Proceedes to link 5 videos' like here guise fix dis plz'"

"3d Sound is messed up" - Tbf It is ... we're gonna have to wait till that shit gets sorted out by Razbam and ED, tho I noticed this FC3 modules as well

Sigh ...

...wait some people actually want it louder?! I think those people just need a different sound system. I have a single Bose speaker sitting on my desk and if I go to external view and turn up the volume to 50% it starts to make me worried for my speaker lol.

The only issue is the M2000C now sounds like a constant flyby while still on the ground; besides that, the overall sound is rather well implemented.

Do you have any good samples of Jets standing on the Runway and seeing what kind of sound they produce?

I can reproduce the flyby effect in the F--3 view while airborne. At any altitude and airspeed, engage the autopilot with the wings level and altitude hold mode. Stabilize the airspeed then press F-3.

During the flyby you'll notice a modulation in the aircraft sound as it approaches. To me it sounds like the power is being modulated up and down, though I know it's stable. Maybe a sound cone issue? I don't know. Doesn't bother me that much. But I think it's the same thing others are reporting.

The sound is great though. I know it's waiting on some releases from ED for final tweeking. As is, it's a huge improvement though. Great work.

Shadow, that's doppler shift that you hear during fly-bys (higher pitch when coming towards you, lower pitch when going away from you): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppler_effect

I'm well aware of what dopppler shift is. To me, it doesn't seem right either way. There is a clear modulation separate to the doppler shift.

Tested last night, could not reproduce any sort of issues with the jet sitting still on the ground.

Ditto, but then again I have a good sound card and 5.1 surround. Even with out the "3d surround sound" I still sounds fantastic Rlaxoxo.

The shift pattern will vary depending on how far from you the plane will pass.

i.e. If the plane goes really close to you and you only consider this in one dimension, you will hear the maximum high frequency, than all the shifting in VERY quick, than the lower frequency right away.

Now if the distance at which the plane goes from you is not negligible, you will hear the maximum frequency far, followed by an arctan transition phase while the plane is passing you that will last in proportionally longer to the distance at which the plane is passing from you, than another arctan transition to the minimum frequency far away.

Could this be the modulation you are hearing?

At any case the "PlaneFarNoise" that you hear from Fly By's comes from ED General Sounds so it has nothing to do with the Mirage

Try to take any plane F-15 for example and go at just a bit slower then supersonic and it will have the same effect

amazing when youre in 3rd view a bit far away and turn on the AB! youll hear that amazing pop!

although i like the sound of the plane flying away from you more then the sound of the plane coming towards you..

I agree that it sounds good. But pardon me if I've missed something but is there no sound for the afterburner in cockpit? For me I think there is no change in the sound when lighting the can.

There is it's sort of melts into the existing sound you can hear it if you listen for it

To me, at least on the ground while taking off, there is no difference between mil & AB at all. I don't know if this is just me but if I'm correct I think there should be more sound power to those massive cans burning up. I dunno I'm not a sound engineer but a decent decrease in pitch when in AB maybe?

You can always play around with it your self

Go to the following path: \DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\M-2000C\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\Engines\SnecmaM53

Open the following files and edit the lines:

"e_M2kC_combustion_afterburner"

"e_M2kC_combustion_afterburner2"

gain = 3.6

To your liking

You can increase it to something like 4.4 or any number you wish for more volume if you want and make it louder

Cheers mate, I'll play around with that and see what comes of it.

Does anyone else have the issue, that when you turn your head roughly 90 degrees, left or right. The sound fades away?

Even when taxiing, and slightly pushing the throttle forward, I get that over-the-top flyby sound. On the ground, inching ahead slowly.

Overall, I wish there was an alternative sound pack out there that wasn't so "bold".

Known issue. Reported and being worked on. Apparently it's on ED'S side
