Goldsmack Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 So I'm finally getting around to replacing my terrible old ULTRA lsp 550w PSU, I am in the middle of a few "tweaks" to my PC witch include a Corsair H75 aoi water cooler and a new case with extra 120mm fans, make a long story short with the cpu overclocked and the gpu overclocked I think iv reached the limit of this PSU and am looking at a new one. I don't really want to spend over $100cnd but I want the best PSU I can get and found this. SeaSonic M12II EVO 620w http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095&ignorebbr=1 I know/heard SeaSonic is a reputable company and its got everything I'm looking for including being modular. I just wanted a second opinion on this before I pull the trigger. I feel like Im playing the lottery with me crap psu and I feel like it could catch fire or burn out all my new parts  Cheers! PS: the name says SeaSonic M12II but the picture is the newer SeaSonic M12II EVO and the EVO is the one I want, I may call them up to double check. Konovalov Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Seasonic is a good brand and I had the original M12 PSU many years ago which served me well with my old Core 2 Duo rig. I can't see anything wrong with your choice. And yes having a decent PSU in particular when overclocking components helps. 1 Intel i7-8700K | Asus Maximus X Formula | Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Gainward Phoenix GTX1070 GLH | Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 1 x 250GB OS & 1 x 500GB Games | Corsair RM750x 750W | Corsair Carbide Air 540| Win10 | Dell 27" 1440p 60Hz | Custom water loop: CPU EK-Supremacy EVO, GPU EK-GTX JetStream - Acetal+Nickel & Backplate, Radiator EK-Coolstream PE 360, Pump & Res EK-XRES 140 Revo D5, Fans 3 x EK-Vardar 120mm & 2 x Corsair ML140 140mm

Art-J Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Have been using XFX, which is Seasonic's "budget" line, for 2 years. The budget corners were cut on cooling solution in this 650W unit (which is damn loud for a PSU, my only gripe with it), but internals are all Seasonic and I have to say it's been pulling my OC'ed rig nicely and rock solid. I think You'll not be disappointed. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Goldsmack Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Thanks Art dB shouldn't be much of a problem, I already have what I believe to be the first genuine Turbofans for a PC, cooler masters jetflo120 they seem to drown out everything else...but boy to they work good  Windows 10 Pro 64, I5 4690k @4.6GHz with CAPTIAN 240EX AOI, Samsung 850 EVO ,G Skill Ripjaws 16G RAM, Nvidia GTX 970 STRIX, MSI Z97 GAMING 5, WD Blue 1TB HDD, Seasonic M12 II EVO psu, Track IR 5, Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S
