fitness88 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Between DCS game settings and Nvidia control panel settings which has priority if they are set to different settings for similar functions. Thank you.
fjacobsen Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 It depends on whether the settings in the Nvidia control panel are set to "Application controlled or "Override". FinnJ | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 2x2TB SATA SSD | 1x2TB HDD 7200 RPM | Win10 Home 64bit | Meta Quest 3 |
fitness88 Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 It depends on whether the settings in the Nvidia control panel are set to "Application controlled or "Override". FinnJ Application controlled speaks for itself...the application has control just as Override would indicate Nvidia control panel has control, these are not what I am referring to. Between the same DCS game settings and the same Nvidia control panel settings which between DCS and Nvidia has priority if they are set to different values on the same setting?
Art-J Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I presume we're talking about proper full screen mode (after hitting Alt Enter) and not default borderless windowed one the game still uses on launch for some reason? That affects priority as well. Anyway, I never bothered to check it (apart from V-sync, which was affected by all this full screen shambles), but instead of waiting a couple of hours for replies over here, You could have got the answer in a few minutes Yourself - experiment with different aniso filtering options both in system and in game, then just launch any mission with take-off from runway - aniso in DCS has a massive effect on the appearance of runways and taxiways, so one can spot if it works in intended way immediately. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Windsortheater Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Recently I have not been able to get dcs 1.5 to accept the nvidia control panel over ride vsync setting (I use adaptive half refresh rate with dcs). I have tried all the normal tricks like alt enter, toggling in game vsync on and off, tied the over ride to all the dcs executeables, I even tried to set the nvidia global over ride to adaptive vsync. The result is always the same in that dcs never honors the nvidia control panel. Other games seem to work and dcs did as of late last year. Anyone have this working or can confirm broken? Thx Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Demon_ Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 The ingame video settings are always priority. Attache ta tuque avec d'la broche.
Windsortheater Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 it's weird how it used to work. Any suggestion on how to re-enable frame adaptive vsync with DCS? It's a huge enabler for me.
Windsortheater Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 it's weird how it used to work. Any suggestion on how to re-enable frame adaptive vsync with DCS? It's a huge enabler for me. I even tried nvidia inspector to both force adaptive frame rate and to try and limit fps . Neither work I dcs. It seems there is no way to override application settings any longer. I'll try the 2.0 alpha as well to see if it works. Hoping this is a temporary thing. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
