SierraFox Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 so it seems my 9 year old Saitek X52 is finally on it's last legs and I'm in the market for a new HOTAS. Essentially I've come down to wanting to pick up the TM warthog Throttle, but i can't bring my self to get the stick as well, i know it's good quality, but the way my computer and desk is set up and the way i play isn't going to allow me to have pedals. So i'm wanting to know what a good joystick is that i can pair with the throttle. On a side note I really love the look of the x-56 rhino but I've heard that it has similar problems that the x-55 had. Bad wiring in the throttle which makes them susceptible to breaking, bad calibration on the twist. Has anyone encountered any of these issues or have they ironed these out since release? Sokol1_br Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) Until now the most close to "high quality twist rudder" - "twist rudder" is synonymous of cheap, entry-level joysticks - is the one in VKB Gladiator, due the use in this "twist" the same contact less sensor MaRS of X,Y axis. But Gladiator PRO version - with "Next Gen" metal/bearing/CAM gimbal - don't come with twist rudder. Are promise to implement in future, due players request. The "twist rudder" in other joysticks follow the same rule - use the most cheap potentiometer possible. Edited September 12, 2016 by Sokol1_br
cichlidfan Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 In general, twist rudder will not equate to high quality.
