pepin1234 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 (edited) Hello I know a group of Lock-on and DCS they are unable to play using LAN when using DCS. They have not internet in the city they live. When they get to play in LAN then all them carry their computers to a bigger city. Is a very limit situation. You guys know a way to solve this? Some of them are still stuck in FC2 only because this... Edited September 24, 2016 by pepin1234 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Wrecking Crew Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I have heard that if one computer can make the Internet connection and be set up as a proxy for the others on a LAN then it would work, but I have not done this -- I asked about the same thing awhile back because we were all going to a remote place without Internet. If you can have a cell phone set up as a Internet Hot Spot for one computer on the LAN, that was the solution, I think. Then all the other player computers could get the Internet for DCS authorization through that one computer proxy. I don't know how to make this work, though. 1 Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.
pepin1234 Posted September 24, 2016 Author Posted September 24, 2016 So it is possible with one computer sharing internet for a LAN network? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TomOnSteam Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Try using Direct IP Connection on LAN. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
BaD CrC Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 you need indeed one computer connected to the internet and acting as a proxy. Then all the other computers on the LAN will use it to validate their DCS install and keys. we are doing this for several years for our 40+ players LAN in the middle of nowhere using a 4G phone plugged in the proxy computer. works great and data usage is very very low. no worry. you just have to restrict the internet access to 10308 port only so the players are not starting to check mail, watch videos or stuff that will kill your 4g subscription. 1 https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

Thank you. Let's see if that work for that group. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 You could also purchase a cheap router for this purpose pepin, it should work well and you don't need to mess with anyone's computer then.
