Precog Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Is there an easy way to cycle waypoint (not steerpoints) in the cdu? At the moment I have to manually enter the waypoint number or name - something like a rocker switch as with steerpoints would be preferable. 1 Check out my 'real world' video series [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Revelation Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 There's a rocker switch on the UFC and buttons assigned to the flight stick for that purpose. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
Yurgon Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Is there an easy way to cycle waypoint (not steerpoints) in the cdu? Good question! I've wondered if such a switch exists as well, but so far haven't found one. Here's to hoping someone with more knowledge will enlighten us. There's a rocker switch on the UFC and buttons assigned to the flight stick for that purpose. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Precog was not asking about. Or do the UFC steerpoint rocker and the DMS hat also apply to waypoints in the CDU?

Gliptal Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Yep. Change your DB source to something else rather than FLT PLAN and all the rocker switches and the HOTAS command will cycle between waypoints or markpoints. Incidentally, you cannot technically cycle through steerpoints, since only one (or zero in fringe cases) steerpoint exists at any single time.
Yurgon Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Guys, I think we're talking about entirely different things here. The way I understand OP's question is: With the CDU in WAYPT, how can one cycle the waypoints displayed in the CDU, without having to enter either the waypoint name or number into the CDU? What you answered, as I understand it, is: How do I cycle the steerpoint, either from the waypoint, or markpoint, or mission point, database. AFAIK, the UFC steerpoint rocker (as well as DMS up/down with HUD as SOI) will only ever cycle the steerpoint, but will not affect the waypoint shown in the CDU in WAYPT at all, or am I completely wrong here? Anyhow, I think I found an answer to my question, which I believe is OP's question as well: On the CDU panel, the rocker switch to the lower right of the CDU, labeled "Increment/Decrement Data Indicated With +/- Symbol", does exactly that. In the controls, these are "CDU PLUS Key" and "CDU MINUS Key" and have a default mapping of LCTRL+LWIN+Num+ / Num- (and will obviously work on everything in the CDU with the +/- Symbol)
Precog Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 Yurgon, you understood my original question. However, the +/- rocker on the CDU only cycles waypoints when in Mark or Mission. Check out my 'real world' video series [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hansolo Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I am pretty sure that if you set the PAGE know on the AAP to WAYPT then you can use the +/- key to cycle through all the waypoints in the CDU. Admittently sometime it won't take the +/- input in WAYPT position. I then just cycle the PAGE knob to STEER and then back to WAYPT. Then it works. Once the PAGE knob is in anything but OTHER it will override what ever is set on the STEER PT knob.
