Hi all,

It seems I have to reinstall my Windows. My question is if there is a way to preserve activation belong to my current Windows and import it to the new one? If it is possible I would like to avoid a new activation.

Thanks,

András

Hello,

First of all, sorry for reviving an old thread, but I'm having issues with my Windows 10 and want to revert to Windows 8.1, so I was searching for a way to not having to deactivate/reactivate as some of my DLCs have few activations left.

The Activation Guide that you mentions, says on page 1 that a change on Windows PID means 3 points and the activation is required only if you exceed 12 points. So, how do I proceed if I will just reinstall windows and keep all the rest the same (same computare name, same drive, etc) ?

Is it possible to export the ED registry keys and then restore them on my new windows?

best regards,

Eduardo
