Pierre
Kang Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 The callsigns you set in the mission editor are for your flights, not for your pilot, and you can't fully personalise them, sadly. On the other hand this means that they get read correctly in the audible radio messages.
pierreaf Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 thanks for the quick reply and help. But i dont understand all.. sorry. thats mean that i can only hear colt or uzi etc... on the radio but never i could put my proper callsign? ex Tiger 01 ? and have it on the radio its not available?
VIKBELL Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 The Colt and UZi call sign is with in the Mission editor. you can change that to some thing they will not call you by you personnel one. Kang Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Yes, that is correct. As for the logbook: you can rename your profile by just clicking at the name and typing away. That callsign at least gets displayed on the map and in the logs.
MikeMikeJuliet Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 The whole thing might be a misunderstanding on the callsign part. Military pilots usually have callsigns, sort of 'nicknames', that they are referred by the other pilots. This callsign has nothing to do with the callsign of the aircraft, which is used in flight. This is probably for several reason: 1. standardisation of callsigns, 2. to not be able to identify a certain pilot in the air for personal security reasons , and 3. to make it easier to handle formations, where you can call the whole flight by one callsign, instead of, say, four different callsigns. On the subject of changing logbook info: I don't know if it is possible, but you might be able to find the logbook in the DCS folders on your PC and manually change them on Windows. I cannot confirm this works, though. Never had to do it myself. Regards, MikeMikeJuliet DCS Finland | SF squadron
