Habu_69 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 For the P-51D cockpit I wish to have one of my TM MFD devices send ordinary keyboard calls to DCS World instead of the DX button codes. For example, I want MFD button 1 to send key F1 (but not the cockpitview callback) to the sim. This would be useful in navigating the comm menus. I am pretty competent at manually editing the MFD.lua files, but I have been unsuccessful at discovering how to accomplish my goal. Any advice? Perhaps it is not possible.
tintifaxl Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 You could use TARGET for this. Create (then run) a profile that only includes the MDF1 and assign the keystrokes you want. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
Habu_69 Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Ahhh, yes Target. Tx, I had not thought of that. But I wonder if there is not a more elegant solution directly within DCSW.
mkiii Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Slightly off topic, because short of rewriting a lot of code (the comms gui seems to operate via its own scripts rather than normal keyboard commands), I can't see any obvious way, but... am I alone in only just realising that you can actually click on the Comms items to select them? All this time, I have been messing with the keyboard (which I normall have slid under my desk), when I could have just used my mouse. ;/
Winston 60 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) ...... But I wonder if there is not a more elegant solution directly within DCSW...... Maybe not elegant but a simple solution: F1, F2, F3, etc., are already in your DCS key commands list. Simply assign your TM MFD buttons to them. When the comms menu is open, these MFD buttons will select only the comms menu items. Of course, when the comms menu is not open they will still perform the normal F key functions as assigned.
