bouncerj21 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Hi I can't seem to find an answer to an issue I am having with DCS and my X-55. When playing DCS mainly the A10C at the moment I suddenly loose keyboard and some stick button controls. What I have found is if I then turn the mode switch on my X-55 to mode 2 and back to mode 1 (default) things start working again. ( Really frustrating when lining up a gun run and the guns don't fire :( ) I have tried the link below and removing the mode lines from the profile but this still does not fix the issue I use the Saitek software to configure my rotary functions and then all other buttons and axis are mapped in DCS. I only configure under Mode 1 and all other modes are empty. And the Saitek is plugged directly in to my PC's USB port and not via a hub. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Don't have the X-55 so don't know if it has the same cable linking both components, but with my X-52pro, this problem was being caused by a loose connection from cable linking the joystick to the throttle body, specifically where the cable plugs into the back of the throttle body itself, if not absolutely firmly pushed in it would cause your issue, it you wiggled the cable a bit (it will jump into another mode say from mode 1 to 3). bouncerj21 Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 Thanks Ian for the prompt response. I will take a look
huzar Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 In X-55 throttle and stick are separate components, each having its own USB cable. It's probably something with Saitek software, it's piece of garbage.
Gladman Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Which operating system? I only had issues in Win10. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord
bouncerj21 Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 Hi Huzar agree but I am using the side scroll for zoom and have one of the rotaries set up with bands so it opens and closes the Airbrake. As far as I am aware I can only map this with the Saitek software. If there is anything else you can suggest then I will be more than happy to use something else :) I actually use the Warthog Flight Stick but have the X-55 throttle Gladman Yes on windows 10 Thanks both
Gladman Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 I'm certain its a Windows 10 issue Bouncer. To be honest I was very happy with my X55 until I "upgraded". I would have buttons that worked intermittently as well. I went as far as loading DCS on another computer running Win7 and I couldn't replicate the issue. For that reason I still have my X55 and although I have offered it for sale, I indicate that Win10 will be an issue. I can only hope that Logitech who now own Saitek will make a new set of drivers and remove the issue. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord
huzar Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Win 10 here as well. For a long time I avoided Saitek software like a plague and did all bindings directly in DCS. Last week I bought a Rift and I needed the software to map more buttons on HOTAS, but it is so frustrating. Very unintuitive (but I can learn it and live with it), ghost presses, problems with loading and saving profiles etc. Bouncerj21 - no need to use rotary for Airbrakes, map them to a button. Use one of thumb rotaries for zoom, works perfectly for non-VR. Also I plan to ditch Saitek software altogether and just use DCS bindings with modifiers. Any button can be used as a modifier in DCS:) Edit: Yes, it can be problem with Windows actually, easily resolved with not using the software at all:) Edited October 31, 2016 by huzar

That's because some of the buttons stopped working after a few months as the cables inside the throttle, for example, were cut by the moving mechanism. I had to use a glue gun to stick them together..'twas a mess. I changed 2 joysticks in 1 year.. forget about Saitek. Now I'm using MS FFB2 (I have 2 pcs) + the X55 throttle that I've fixed. I fly the 109 and man.. there's a huge difference between non-FF and this one. We're just waiting for the 'rumble' bug to be fixed and everything will be just perfect.
