Icpirate3 Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Hello. I recently downloaded DCS Huey and have a problem that's quite frustrating! When starting the engine or even starting with the rotor spinning at 100%, the throttle drops to idle every few seconds. On startup, when pressing page up or down, the twist grip just jitters and doesn't actually affect engine RPM. On the rare occasion I am able to open the throttle and achieve 100% rotor rpm, the throttle goes to idle. I've deleted the keyboard and joystick folders as suggested but still have the same issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
razo+r Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 check the drivers and also check via system configuration(windows) how you're throttle is reacting which joystick do you have?
Icpirate3 Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 I have the Saitek X52 and it works fine in other sims. I tried assigning the throttle to the slider, get the same jitters. Also does the same when I use the mouse. The collective movement is fine, as well as all other flight controls. All drivers are up to date as of two weeks ago.

razo+r Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 yeah, rotary or slider jitter on the X52, so you should map it to a button or switch
Highspeed1964 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Check your mappings. You may have throttle mapped to keystrokes as well as an axis. Can only have one or the other. Am I doing something wrong then? I have to have buttons mapped since I cannot get the throttle (analog axis) to respond when I'm in cut-off (below the idle stop) so I have to throttle up via button until I'm past the stop then I can rotate further using the analog. Also, when coming back down to shut off the engine I can use the analog to bring it to idle stop, but when I release the idle stop I can only go lower with the throttle down button, not the analog. Yes, I've tried it without the button mappings and no joy. Cannot get the throttle to respond it's below idle stop. Highspeed

The throttle AXIS only works above the Idle Stop. Key mapping (Page Up/Down) needed below the stop. I misunderstood the issue in the OP. Highspeed1964 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Ok, thanks. I was hoping I WAS doing something wrong and I could operate it completely on an axis. Ah, well. Is there a "wish list" topic for the Huey? :music_whistling: Higshpeed
