Helios want your monitor to be 1 on the left and 2 on the right, this sometimes is inconvenient depending on monitor size, shape, etc.

If you have a problem with how Windows assigns numbers to your monitors you may be able trick Windows by doing the following.

Windows seems to assign the number 1 monitor to the fastest latest technology. HDMI > DVI-D > DVI-I > VGA

I was able to use an adapter to connect my DVI-I output to a VGA in, on my old monitor, now it is number 2. Prior to this the old monitor was identified as 1 because the input cable was HDMI. My newer monitor, connects directly using DVI-D. So it would seem the cable determines monitor numbering, where cable types differ.

A DVI-D connector on a graphics card sends out a digital signal only, while a DVI-I connector, which carries both an analog and digital signal, can send out a digital signal (for digital displays such as flat panel LCD monitors) as well as analog signal (for older displays such as a CRT monitor) using a DVI to VGA adaptor shown below. The DVI-I connector contains more pins than the DVI-D connector. The extra pins on a DVI-I connector carry the analog signal which the DVI-D connector does not have.

DVI-D and DVI-I connections shown below.

There is also a bios video priority setting , which may or may not be helpful.

Very interesting thread! Thanks.

Helios will switch the monitors anyway you want them... it is easy as 1=2 and 2=1.

That's what I first thought too, but my attempts to reset monitors from within Helios didn't work, I can tell it to exchange monitors 1 and 2 but they dont change. If I place 1 monitor over the other they do change, it the Windows setup has changed.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, always glad to hear of an easier way!

As a side note:

I see that when my Dell monitor first turns on at boot (1st thing displayed on the screen...before Windows has started) it says "Auto Select DVI-I" Maybe hardware or monitor driver selection.

I've got three monitors, my main one connected via DVI, my touchscreen connected via DP (it seems to work best that way) and my TV connected via HDMI.

With all three connected I couldn't get Helios to work anymore even though the TV was disabled in Windows (it certainly used to work like that), as Helios shows monitors 1 and 2 but Windows had my main monitor as 3, my touchscreen as 1 and my TV (disabled) as 2.

When I open the editor, it shows my main monitor on the left as 2 and the touchscreen on the right as 1. Most of my profiles load into the editor with the Helios screen as 1 and resetting to swap them over didn't make them work (they didn't work before resetting either). The only profile I could run was one that for whatever reason showed the main monitor on the left as 1 and the Helios screen on the right as 2 when loaded in the editor. Resetting the other profiles doesn't swap the numbers over to look like that, it just lets me move the Helios screen from the touchscreen on the right (1) to the main monitor on the left (2), which doesn't help.

Anyway, disconnecting my TV got things working again but of course it would be nice if I didn't have to do that each time I wanted to use Helios.

Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen

Try this, perhapps that's your problem:

-- After reset monitors, my profile dont work at all, any gauge or switches moves when they do on the cockpit (Usually configurations with 3 or more monitors)

sometimes, converting to systems with 3 or more monitors, Helios move the graphics to the correct monitor, but not the bindings. They stay in monitor 2, even if you move everything to monitor 3, or other. To solve this problem, look the number where you put it the profile inside and open the profile in notepad++ and using the tool replace, replace all the "monitor 2" by your correct number. For example "monitor 3"

I'm sure Capt Zeen is offering a valid approach, I assume you didnt or couldnt try a different cable. I'm quite sure monitor numbering occurs at a lower level (hardware/driver) and Windows merely sits on top! LaLa
