Schmidtfire Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 1. AiM-9L Sidewinder. (F-15C, Hawk, etc.) 2. AiM-7F. (F-15C) 3. Python 3 and 4. (F-15C) 4. R-77-1 (for MiG29S) 5. Super 530F (M2000C) Of course also for all supported AI aircrafts. 1
fixen Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) Super 530F was only used on a few early m2000c's with a different radar if I remember correctly. Python 4 is used in combination with a helmet mounted sight, which the F-15 we have does not have. R-77-1 is probably to modern to get any reliable information on, since Russia is really tight with weapon capability information. AIM-7F and AIM-9L would be nice. Edited November 21, 2016 by fixen
Schmidtfire Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 Good points fixen! I think that R-77-1 is a great way to get a lethal "amraamski" into DCS. A good counter to the Aim-120C. If ED can get their hands on R-77 info, I think that they can make a beliavable version of the R-77-1. You are probably right about the Python 4 but the Python 3 has been used a lot on the Israeli F-15s and it would be nice to see it within DCS. Super 530F is in sort of a grey area. But it would be good for simulating early 80's engagements with the M2000C. Since we usually only have one block or model per aircraft, munitions is a good way to "simulate" different time eras.

Super 530F might be done by Aviodev to go along the Mirage F1 they are working on. The R-77-1 would be both difficult to simulate correctly (near zero technical documentation from reliable sources) and there is no flyable plane to use it (I'm not even sure there are AI plane that can use it).
Schmidtfire Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) I would expect the R-77-1 to have longer range and be more resistant to chaff. Should be able to mount it on MiG29S. Sure we're in a grey area, but I think it still falls under believable addition. I mean, in my opinion. If we can load Su-25T full of SEAD missiles we can also have an updated version of the R-77 or make the current one harder to defeat. Think it would be really interesting to have capable active radar homing missiles on both sides. Well, it's just a wish list... Edited November 21, 2016 by Schmidtfire
