Controller Config Files?

Where are the Controller Config files for previous button assignments and axis settings kept?

Did you save a profile? Mine was in the root DCS folder.

In the Windows saved games folder, 'Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input'.

I just copied and pasted to my new installation folder on my new new SSD and no dice! It doesn't work. Nothing has changed for the settings on the new installation none of my old assignments is working. They worked on my previous installation. So, what could be the problem?

I think I finally figured the thing out. Once you copy the profiles from your old save game folder in the user folder to the new one you still need to load them up in the game controller tab of the game settings menu. In fact, you have to select each controller (joystick, throttle and pedals) and load the profile for each one in turn to get it all back the way it used to be. This method is not very quick and efficient in my opinion.

Yup, this is one big weak spot for DCS. Having to configure controllers for all the planes. Grrr.

 

I wish they had a hierarchical system. An overarching one that takes precedence. You can configure things once there. Then individual plane ones to customize it.

That's strange, I copied mine over between Release, Open Beta and Open alpha versions without any trouble?

 

However, I think I maybe copied the entire 'Config' folder over, not just the 'Input' folder.

I did the same thing, but I still had to go back in and select everything all over to make it work. This is a huge pain in the ass!
