Terzi Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 The AIM-9 missiles change the sound when they are pointed to IR sources. This is fine. But when the missile is fired when facing the sun, it does not follow the sun. It should follow any IR source that it gives the "growling" sound. Am I wrong?
Ktulu2 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 It should, and it does. Try it with shooting at missiles if you doubt. Now for the sun, remember that it might blind the seeker completely, so the IR-blinding size of the sun is more like 10-20° of radius, giving a lot of room for error on a pure sun tracking. 1 I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public
