All I know is this game will never be "fair" according to that thought process unless it's limited to the hardware it will run on. Example: I run 2 monitors, a 65 inch 4k for my main and a 32 inch for the shkval. I'd say that having this mod running pales in comparison to the advantage the large monitors give me.

This mod helps your situational awareness, it's not like it's an aimbot or gives you enhanced shkval resolution. If you want to get down to the pure vanilla experience they should disallow TeamSpeak or any other communication software, because after all it wasn't placed in-game there for it would be seen as a hack to the purists.

My pit and this gives me a ridiculous amount of advantage, I promise you that. Is it unrealistic? I don't know, is pressing G on the keyboard realistic?

Sadly this thread will go "off the rails" but I appreciate Nero.ger and this fine work and hope he keeps up this fine work.

This is going to turn into a Leavu thread, I see it now. I hope not.

no it will not because this is "MY" thread.

(insert full metal jacked reference here)

if this turns from civil conversion/discussion into a hostile mess i will

ask the MODs if they can calm things down a bit.

but i appreciate the support and input so far, thx :)

Guys I really like Neros work and yeah...I missed the part about the LLTV not implemented anymore.. which is definitely the gamechanger here ... Iam currently not at home so please let me have a look again in 3 days.... Iam sometimes very worried about the module.

So back to the mod discussion; Has anybody been able to assign the cougar buttons in-game to the mfd section of the controls? I'm using "joytokey" which is software that allows you to assign keyboard keys to buttons on hardware. The control cells in the game control section will not let me map any buttons from my hardware to anything besides the keyboard row for the mfd.

I've had this issue before but deleting the control.lau allowing the game to reassign the control profile has fixed it in the past. Any methods anybody has used to map the buttons in-game would be helpful.

ohkay i just realized that the problem might be with mod, i cant bind anything but the keyboard-key. i suspect its because i did not supply a default.lua for the joystick. will investigate and get back to you

@isegrim, ok that explains a lot of the confusion :)

Thank you for the joystick file. I have all the MFD buttons programmed and the mod is working well. I made it OYgme compatible. So tired tonight but will give it a go tomorrow for sure. I fly with no cockpit view as I have a physical full cockpit. I have a small graphic of the new MFD on the top left corner. I will put up a screenshot tomorrow. Great work and how can I help you?

but your shkval-export is in its correct position right?

while it might not seem like it to some i actualy spend a great deal of time thinking about what is realistic (as in would work in an actual real aircraft) and discarded some ideas because of Multyplay balance (LLTV is gone for example, that was one of the main reasons i removed it to avoid this whole conversation....seems it did not work)

Well, since it didn't work out as planned, can you return LLTV? I found amazing flying a "fiction KA-50N". :)

Posted

no, the LLTV-Option will not be released again.

while sad, i have to accept the fact that the majority of concern was related to the LLTV. since it was never the core of this mod i am perfectly happy to drop it, if it cools things down and leads to a wide acceptance of my mod.

statment was made in BOLD to make it clear and stand out :)

I have no idea how so i try it with a little Story

"An half year ago a young man parked his new Audi in the Backyard of the House iam living in.

Some of his friends did where standing around his car and after a while he switched on a red glowing light underneath his Car, and everybody of his friends where like awsome and wow somehow ... impressed.

After a short while the young man asked me how i like this and at first i told him that this is not allowed in Germany. And next i asked him how much faster the car is going when he is switching this lights on."

This mod can be helpfull in the very beginning of flying the KA-50 especially without some peripherals like Track ir.

But at the end its not really needed.

For me personaly it feelt very loaded especially the Flight path pipper inside the HUD stressed me out.

Wow dude! I have used your Ka-50 sound mod for years and to see you, as a developer yourself, be so critical of a new mod, that is in its infancy and under development, is astounding. And neon lights do make cars go faster. Everyone knows that.

From a technical standpoint, I find this mod very impressive. Amazing what can be done in terms of modding - given one has enough patience to dive that deep into the LUA and file structure of a module.

I actually find some features quite nice and handy ... but, while not being a "rivet counter" at all, I too find this a bit ... well, too much. Too much phantasy, so to say.

But that is only my personal opinion - if anyone likes it and wants to use it - sure, why not? :-)

Posted

Yes this mod is in early stage should have added this to my post.

And just saying.... sometimes i which people would be more critical with my mods too.

And i really do not like to snipe Neros work here. Its amazing work i could not do this myself.

I've been flying the blackshark since it's release and I find it useful, the ability to set mark/target points in your hud as well as have a visualization of your LWS is nice. I still use the datalink panel but the other features work well.

If you deny yourself a little additional situation awareness, then you must be a better pilot than I.
