Did the 1.5.5.59744 Update 1 fix VR performance?

I've been holding off updating to 1.5.5 due to the reports about VR performance being affected.

Are you getting better performance from 1.5.5.59744 Update 1?

No performance issues with 1.5.5 for me and never heard of any. There are indeed for 2.0.4 but no for 1.5.5.

At least for me.

As far as I know 1.5.5 never had performance issues in VR.

1.5.5 runs just fine on Oculus Rift.

Vr performance was just messed up in 2.0 alpha...but its fixed now. 1.5 was always running fine

Thanks, I saw this thread:https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=176941 and noted that they were (some/mostly?) VR users reporting a problem, so assumed it was similar to 2.04

I have definitely noticed some performance decreases in 1.5 recently.

I had my (fairly new) PC running perfectly giving around 85-90 with VR (it never dropped below 85, but was capped at 90 by the VR).

Since one of the updates, I struggle to get more than 55. In some busy areas with lots of AI, it even drops to 20ish

I had some issues with the previous version, but after the last update things improved.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you get 55 or 85fps?

Through the Oculus, I only get either 45fps or 90fps, never anything in between... which doesn't help benchmarking.

Thx.

That is probably because the Oculus software used asynchronous space warp (ASW). This automatically sets the FPS to 45 when you are >45 and <90 FPS. Try hitting CTRL+Numpad 1 to turn it off. Then you should also see values between 45 and 90.

Good question :-) When I switch on ASW, anything below 45 drops and gives you an fps (as it is no longer locked to 45).

When I press CTR-1 and turn off ASW, I get the fps readout even above 45fps.

I know when I first ran DCS, it either locked to 45 or 90, but with the CTR-1 CTR-4 keys with ASW, this no longer seems the case
