What ATC options are currently available for a flight between Kobuleti and Senaki - Kolkhi? I'm aware of the startup request, permission to taxi, and take off, but I'm unclear on what options and frequencies might be available during departure and approach.

The frequency is always the tower frequency of the airfield you want to contact. You can click on the airfield on the F10-Map to see its tower frequency.

When airborne, you can request the azimuth to the airfield, tell them you're inbound and request landing.

To be honest, the ATC system in DCS is pretty bad, but the developers are currently working on an ATC overhaul.

Sadly, that sentence could be from any flight sim available now. Let's hope we will get a nice solution for this in DCS. Still, if there could be a very good AI for this, then such an AI would probably handle the real traffic, instead of humans with all their flaws ;)

I don't know if you play Falcon BMS, but they have an outstanding ATC simulation IMHO. The ATC sends aircraft into holding patterns if necessary, talks them down on the ground, handles multiple runways, ...

It would be so great if we would have such an ATC handling in DCS :(

I'm not clear on frequencies at Senaki - Kolkhi, because I think there may be an error with the chart, but I recall being handed off to the tower on approach. I'm sure delivery was mentioned, but that can't be Clearance Delivery.

SN, the tower frequency covers all RL ATC positions (ground, ramp, tower, ARTCC, TRACON, ect) so as QuiGon said there is only one "person" to call for every service the airport has available. The easiest way IMO to find the correct freq is by clicking on the airfield on the F10 map where the tower freq will be shown in UHF, VHF, FM, and probably every other spectrum a DCS aircraft has a radio for. I am not with my gaming machine, otherwise I would post a screenshot.

As for the handoff to tower, that is just a prompt to activate the "F1 request landing" message to be (usually) cleared to land, no actual frequency change is required. Nor is clearance delivery modeled.

Once you have left the ground there is very little help in regards to the departure/enroute/arrival phases. You can request a simple vector to the field, and when you call inbound they will assign a heading and tell you to descend to pattern altitude, which as far as I have ever seen is a completely canned call that provides no separation service from traffic nor terrain.

Yes using humans is the best way to handle ATC if you want it real like IRL.

Will be interesting using PilotEdge now there's more airports on the NTTR map.
