Something to possibly look forward to for ATI users http://www.elitebastards.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16871 according to that thread, a new MSTAA mode in hidden in the 6.10 beta driver, enabled via registry edit "EATM=1" (i think stands for Multi Sampling Transparency Anti Aliasing) if anyone is willing to guinea-pig the 6.10 beta i'd be interested in the results :)

Edit : 6.10 beta available here http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=23354

can you even tell the difference between 6x and 8x AA??? I can't tell much difference between 4x and 6x but since it can run on 6x I set to 6x :D

Well, 8xAA seemed to completly smooth out the jaggies. There was simply no jaggies at all....simply smooth and seamless.

Keep in mind that jaggies are much more visible at wide screen then they are at say 1600x1200.

To everyone with an X1950XTX...stay the hell away from this beta. I would take much less forum space in writing what ATI got right with it. Apparently, the 1950XTX STILL isn't supported, and not even creating a system restore point saved my system from getting borked.

Bah...oh well...at least I've got my original driver CD from HIS so I'll have it fixed in no time. :D

Yeah...be afraid...be VERY afraid if you have an X1950XTX. This beta DEFINITELY needs more time in the oven.

wow... thanks for this tip IguanaKing, I am so tired of waiting for damn Cat's 6.10 which were suposed to be out early October (isn't that typical)

I was thinking if I should try the Beta's and well... now I know not to bother :D

Wonder how much my poor R9600XT would benefit from this.

Actually, now that I think of it, the 6.7 to 6.8 did give me quite an FPS boost even in Flaming Cliffs. So, who knows.
