Alwandy
Hey guys.. Sooo.. I started the idea of myself to have something to keep myself occupied and found that making my own clickable cockpit would be amazing. So straight to the point, could you guys advice me what specifically do I need to make for example a 10 toggle switch / push button pit with a 3D modeled box (Cheap as hell actually). I am planning to use http://dcs-bios.a10c.de/ but they advised on https://store.arduino.cc/product/GBX00066 with 14 digital pins which I imagine is not enough for a 10 toggle switch / push button pit. My question is: What parts / main board do I need and where can I buy it? Budget is 60 euro, I found some SPST toggle switches on amazon I plan to get so main query I guess is the main board. G00dnight
It has 14 digital + 6 analog pins so 20 in total, Are you planning on a 10 switch plus 10 push button box if so it will just do it. DCS-Bios is a good choice if you are capable of click and paste plus a few changes to DCS itself, then there is connecting all the switches I would suggest solder to the switches and pin connectors on the arduino. Have fun I have and I now have switches, lcd screens and leds on 7 panels. AMD A8-5600K @ 4GHz, Radeon 7970 6Gig, 16 Gig Ram, Win 10 , 250 gig SSD, 40" Screen + 22 inch below, Track Ir, TMWH, Saitek combat pedals & a loose nut behind the stick

JG14_Smil
Hello, I have a cockpit with hundreds of switches. Heavy-duty toggle switches are a pain in the butt. I will never incorporate them into a pit again. Just throwing that out there for you... Best of luck on your build.

Sokol1_br
They are heavy to operate, will "hurt" your fingers. :) Are dozens of modesl more appropriated for use in games. You can minimize this adding extension in lever: http://lynx.dk/new-f-16-switchtops-in-the-shop/
RAZBAM_ELMO
THATS WHY YOU WEAR GLOVES!! wait or am I just the only one lol Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.

I have some cheap "heavy duty" switches laying around here (with the same style of red name shield on them). And they don't feel smooth at all. They work, but when flipping them it just feels forced. If you flip them not far enough, they just stay between 2 positions. I also have some Apem switches and they feel butter smooth, pretty similar to the ones on the Trustmaster Warthog throttle base. But at $5 a pop I would prefer to go for ebay ones :D
Sokol1_br
CrashO, Thing is this switch linked in eBay is for handle 120/220 volts - so "heavy dutty" - not the best option for 'cockpits", but in eBay, Aliexpress are dozen of models more suitable and cheap. Try find this model, is used in RC transmitters, has big lever and soft to toggle: https://world.taobao.com/item/521120978485.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a312a.7728556.w4023-1752040867.14.Dkrojz Edited December 31, 2016 by Sokol1_br
