Difference between GTX 1060 Mini and standard 1060?

Happy new year gents,

 

i want to upgrade my computer. Atm I have a 750 2gb, but I want something better. A colleague who knows a great deal about hardware said for my price range, a 1060 would be the best choice. Later he took a look inside my rig and said only a Zotac GTX 1060 Mini would fit in (hard cables are in the way). Since there are 40€ difference, it would be interesting to know. I'm sorry but I'm not very good in this hardware stuff, so don't wonder if some questions here may be stupid:D

The cheaper one is a 3GB model. Take the 6GB one from Mindfactory. The mini version has the same performance as the standard version.

Only real difference if specs are the same is (potential) overclocking room.

I don't think I'll overclock but here are the other specs: i5 4460 3.2 ghz; 16gb RAM

The CPU might be too slow to unleash the full potential of that card.

 

With NTTR aka 2.x it does get better tho through to DX11 using 2 cores itself.

 

Get a "K" next time ;)
