Nyapon Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Hi there! I have a rather weird question regarding the Viggen. In the past few days I have been watching many videos of the Viggen to see how she is and she seems awesome. Now I am considering buying her. But before I can do that, I need to know something about the cockpit view. In the videos it seems to be necessary to lower the view into the cockpit to see/reach all indicators and switches of the Viggen. The thing is, for head-tracking I use an EDTracker. It only allows 3DOF, but with the right setting I can use real-life head roll to move the in-game view left and right. It works perfectly for the A-10C and the K-50. So, will my inability to move my view forwards/backwards and up/down be a problem for me in the Viggen? Thank you!
IzoAzlion Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Well for up and down you could assign a hat switch and for in and out assign zoom in/out slow. Easy peasy. But you need enough buttons for it on your stick, cos it's gonna be something you need a lot.
Sarge55 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Also look at setting up some snap views of key areas of the cockpit. I find them handier than zooming in / out and they stay stable. mattebubben Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 We should also have the ability to raise and lower the seat so that might also help with getting to some buttons / Switches.
Nyapon Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Using buttons or snap views are great ideas. I'm using a Cobra M5 Defender and the new Thrustmaster throttle, so there should be a button available for this. This would also make it easier to input things into the A-10 computer. So, I guess I can buy the Viggen without fear. If I remember correctly, it’s possible to lower/raise the seat in the A-10. No idea about other aircraft.
mattebubben Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 We should be able to raise/lower the seat in the AJS 37 im 90% sure about that.
