Im sure everyone is busy learning this beast, i know i am!! Have the manual open on the laptop, youtube playing on the TV, and the viggen running on the PC haha. Just thought i would start this thread to allow us as a community to share idea, or ask questions, on how people are setting up their control mappings.

I am using the x52pro and so far just have the basics set. Trim, autobrake, AP, and reference button. Still gotta figure out what im going to do for the radar stick and the rb05 control. Im thinking i can use the pinkie switch at the back of the joystick as a modifier and put the radar controls on the throttle and the operate when the switch is held. Using the throttle hat to control radar slew. The buttons are limited however so ill need to choose the most vital ones, and the ones that arent used as often ill leave on the keyboard. And then for the rb05 ill use the switch control function leatherneck has added and have one of the stick buttons act as the modifier for that. Ok, back to flying and learning!!

I originally wanted to use the throttle mouse as the radar but couldn't figure out how! Mind sharing how you assign it to the radar axis?

Sure open the Saitek profile editor go to product. Where it says "Views" select product view, click on the thumb stick on the picture, it should scroll down the list to where it says ministick X Axis, right click that and set it to bands, Repeat with ministick Y Axis, I have mine set to 0-40 slew, 40-60 neutral, 60-100 slew. I also have bound the default slew control to the axis bands.

Thanks a bunch for the info! So i got the mouse stick switched to bands, and assigned the bands to a key stroke, yet its not registering in the game. I even tried one of the 2 way toggles on the stick base. I assigned it a keystroke, and then assigned that key stroke to something in the game and it didnt register. Any ideas? I saved the profile in the profile editor and made sure its active

Remove the mappings in game for under x-52 and make sure the keyboard ones are mapped

For my old-school X52, I have started using the "Mode" rotary on the stick. Different modes changes the output of the slew on the throttle and also the trigger itself. Mode 1 concerns the radar, and the trigger becomes the T1/Tv trigger. In mode 2 the throttle slew switches between Master Modes. In mode 3 it slews the RB05 and trigger acts as safety/fire. Then there is just some general stuff, brake, ATT AP, reference, T0 , radar range/mode etc. Both slews on the stick is trim hat and view.

I use the Mode wheel for radar modes and have got the Pinky switch setup as a modifier

I thought about that approach, but the way my joystick sits between my legs, I can't actually reach and hold the pinky in a reasonable way. That's why I went with this approach. It works for me, and if anybody is interested, I could send the profile (Though I have changed some keys in DCS itself to fit the X52 profile)

I have an affinity for keeping left-handed operations on the throttle, and right-handed on the stick. As such, operating radar modes with the Mode wheel is something I'm iffy about. Right now I just use left coolie.

But here's a question! Is there a way I can make the wheels on the throttle correspond to different settings on the master mode and weapon selector wheels?

The master mode is mapable but not the weapon selector wheel. AFAIK
