SnowTiger Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) I don't know if it's DCS or the Gazelle or the Campaign or the Mission or What but I am getting thoroughly sick of not being able to enjoy flying because there is always some gd thing wrong. I have updated DCS 1.5 OB twice since last Friday (incl ystrdy) and since cannot fly the Gazelle Campaign Mission 3. As I approach WP 4 (to find a spot from where I am in range and can blast vehicles before they cross the bridge), DCS has puked back to the desktop. Both times at the exact same location (give or take a half mile). Whether it's the location OR just "X" number of minutes of flying (since both sys crashes happened in about the same amount of time) I don't know. But I have tried 2 times today. I'm not even going to try flying anything else until I know this issue is fixed. I spend more time frigging around than I do enjoying flight because there always seems to be issues. It's super frustrating.DCS_Log_Crash_Files.zip Edited February 4, 2017 by SnowTiger Going to try to attached Log files. albator29 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I have the same problem, at the same mission. I thought that it was the changing of my graphics card (980 -> 1080). Currently, I'm trying when changing graphic options ... Bon courage!
SnowTiger Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 Oddly I just flew it again and had no problem. Then half way thru Mis 4 there was SO MUCH LAG the gazelle was all over the F'ing place. I couldn't possibly land for the Lag/Frame Rate i.e. 1 frame per second !!! Remember we can't hold the Developers of this great sim to the high standards we have for the Top Rated titles in PC gaming. This is a small group of guys who had an idea, to make a Flight Sim so accurate is would feel like flying the real thing (or as close as they could get). We are kind of spoiled in a way. The top games have huge budgets and marketing teams programmers like mad. Be patient it will get fixed. I have the same issue by the way. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. TOViper Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 My experiences with DCS in the last year ... Hello! After flying a lot with FC3 and the wonderful VIGGEN, I would like to write down a report of my experiences with the simulation. Not a detailed bug report relating to a certain problem that I can fix, but a collection of more or less annoying issues. Before I forget: thanks for making the DCS addons, they are great, no discussion about! Please carry on! So much works really fine and looks wonderful, but I guess 1.5.xx needs a long phase of trouble shooting in general, which IMHO must be priority no.1 for now. I hope that most of them can be solved in a proper manner. 1. problem - CTDs (not too bad) I crash to desktop more often than - lets say - one year before (before I used FC3 only, now I use FC3 and Viggen). This happens after using the simulation for a while, and then using the EXIT button. I know, data about the CTDs, like crashlogs and so on, is key to find bugs. I had CTDs when using FC3 as the only addon but with Viggen too. CTDs only happend after playing multiplayer games. I am pretty sure that a CTD - after pressing EXIT - doesn't change the filesystem or something else too much. DCS starts normal after the CTD. To get me right, for me this is not a big issue, but it shows that something is not working properly. In the next days I will try to collect data. This problem directly relates to this topic here. (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=182314) 2. problem - speed of CONTROL SETUP GUI (just a little bad). Sometimes, when flying, I want to adjust controls. When entering the control setup the GUI is slow. In most cases the GUI is so slow, that it doesn't recognize a new keyboard assignment for a certain simulation action. In this case I have to use the drop down menus to assign keyboard/mouse/joystick inputs. I still haven't found out in which situations this effect happens and in which not. In fact when it happens, it stays permanent. I noticed this effect with FC3 and Viggen also. My solution is to restart DCS. This problem relates to this topic, in a slightly changed behaviour: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181511 3. problem - speed of GUI (bad) Since a long time, the GUI of DCS is sometimes getting slow, and sometimes it comes to full stop, nothing happends anymore. It happens when the simulation runs a while, especially after playing missions that have been created with the mission editor. Even if I play single player missions from the addons, or self-made "one-aircraft-in-the-world missions-just-for-flying-around" made with the mission editor, the effect is noticable. I noticed this effect with FC3 and Viggen also. My solution is to restart DCS. For this problem I wasn't able to find a specific topic, sorry. I have all three effects on both my power machine (16GB RAM), and on my laptop (8GB RAM) too, both are running Windows7 Professional 64-bit SP1. Installed on both systems is: DCS+FC3+Viggen.
