Goblin Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Another poster in my FB thread says throttle had to be above 90% max dry thrust in order to retract the gear. I haven't seen anything in the SFI about this.
renhanxue Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Fpl AJS 37 SFI del 1 kap 1 flik 8 sida 5. Page 119 in the PDF. (It sounded familiar but I couldn't remember if I had seen it in the SFI or not so of course I had to go look it up)

Eldur Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 The thing is, a lot of the sounds in the cockpit probably aren't audible at all when you're actually flying the thing. Gear handle sound, HUD switching sound, throttle sound, etc. -- but we still like to implement them as they are immersive and are a replacement for the tacticle feedback of the real thing. :) Great idea... when can we expect it? (asking ~14 moons later) I just did a test and tried to raise the gear at idle after liftig off. It came up. And I could let it down at ~600. I guess it's still on the roadmap And to be honest, regarding "hear like in helmet", to me that option is "doppelt gemoppelt" as we'd say in Germany. Why do it twice if once is more than enough? I use to fly with "In-Cockpit" 100% and "Helmet" 50% ever since, and that option disabled. I can barely hear some engines' RPM distinction at all with closed canopy, only exceptions that are as loud as I'd expect are the Harrier and the Props. Default has always been the other way round, "In-Cockpit" 50% and "Helmet" 100% which basically mutes the engines almost completely even without having the rather new option checked. I'd rather have an option that turns up the volume, or at least cranks the volume in external views down a lot. Switching to F2 in DCS is like opening a website that has fricken ads with autoplay at insane volumes that'll kill your ears if you'd been listening to music at decent volume... and it's not just me flying - I know what happens. I also like to watch others sometimes, especially tutorials or just for entertainment or even learning from others. There's a lot of F1-F2 switching in quite some and in many cases you just can't understand what the guy is saying anymore when he's on F2. To get back to topic, concerning the pilots who can't remember the *KLONK* - go ask someone if they can hear the clock ticking after double check there is one doing so. You will be amazed of how many actually start to realize it just in that moment.
