Oldfox
Hi! Just starting with the M2000 and already loving it :) I have some questions about general radar behaviour as well as in the current M2000 module: First question is about the cone of detection when cornering the plane. Is the cone following the plane roll in a 90° turn? So general question is if I have 20° up/down cone, and 60° left/right cone (in world reference): am I getting only 20° left/right detection in a 90° turn? Hope I make my point clear :D Question is the same when plane is upside down: if I raise radar elevation full up, am I looking down when plane is flying reverted? Other question is about radar auto lock in dogfight modes: is it normal it won't autolock after losing a first lock until I change the radar mode for a different dogfight mode? Thanks! In RWS the radar is stabilised in roll and pitch. So it doesn't matter if you are inverted or in a dive... As long as it's physically possible for the antenna it will scan the same area. myHelljumper
Yeah, as said above the radar is always pointing upward. There is a bug with the CCMs, Zeus said he had a possible solution a few days ago so check the changelogs ;) Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
Oldfox
Ok thanks. So basically the radar is slaved to have 0° of roll without roll limitations? So searching for targets at 360° in a 90° turn should work as if the plane has no roll at all if I understand correctly.

myHelljumper
Yup, it is the same principle if you are nose-up or nose-down the antenna will look at the same place as if you were level in the gimbal limits. myHelljumper
Yes that's how it's done (if you are in RWS). I work the same in PID and PIC or did I miss something ? Bacab
I work the same in PID and PIC or did I miss something ? Yes but It's not the case in special CCM mode. In those modes the scanned area is dependent of your roll and pitch.

You are right, only the horizontal mode is stabilized in roll. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
Oldfox
Just another detail: the radar cursor indicates what I believe are the min/max altitude of cone detection at that point? Are they theoretical values only or also acounting for the possible current gimbal lock of the radar?
