edgtho Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Acording to the procedures manual, and reading the ground chart, the declination in DCS is 6º East. But with the UH-1 and creating a VOR route, this doesn't seem to be true. I test in the last update and in Kutaisi VOR. 228 course ¿222 for VOR? When I stop in to the crossroad, at the end of the line course, the HSI is misaligned. Ok, I look for the VOR where I'm located and... 220. A 8º declination. I have test it in other courses, and always the same 8º declination. Is 8º the real declination???
DarkCrow Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 VOR, Declination Ajustment I haven't tested but it should vary depending on where you are on the map mostly east and west. Also I'm not sure if it is modeled but magnetic declination slowly changes from year to year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DarkCrow Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 https://skyvector.com/airport/UGKO/Kutaisi-Airport It does say 6 degrees East here though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DarkCrow Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Looks like 6.6 near Kobuleti. I'm not home so I can't do it but if you have the Gazelle it will tell you on the NADIR what it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cibit Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Its got nothing to do with magnetic declination and more to do with a flat map. It has always been the case that if your planning a route using the ruler tool then add 6 degrees to your figure. Any ADF signal should not be affected and you would only notice if like the opening picture shows, your measuring bearing and distance to compare to a transmitter. This is how I have been led to believe is the case i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB

Looking at the DCS World directory i've found that MAGVAR data is update to 2015, while the charts and kneeboard are to 2010.
