Tango777 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I submitted a support ticket about activating the F-15C and Su-27 because at first neither would activate, and after 2 automated (like an involuntary software loop) attempts DCS activation window asked me to re-enter the activation code due to a DCS server problem, so I did what I was asked and re-entered the codes. Finally both planes activations were successful. The same person from DCS support responded to both support tickets. However the answers to the activation problems on the Su-27 was different than the F-15C. I no longer have 8 activations remaining for the F-15C and Su-27. The guy from DCS support said that the Su-27 activation problem was due to: "Your activation error has occurred due to the ongoing work on StarForce server But don't worry. Activations are endless." But his response on the F-15C activation makes no sense to me: "My recommendations is: Before: -Change your computer hardware or -Reinstall the operating system Deactivate your modules, that would not lose one activation on the updated configuration." Can someone please help me sort this out? Thank you. i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
Neon67 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Due to maintenance work on StarForce activation servers till 2nd of March, activation, deactivation of the DCS products and license check on DCS site will not work. This maintenance should not affect activated products. This might be the answer
Justificus Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 This might be the answer True, but the other answer is also for future info. If you change any of your PC hardware or have to reinstall the OS, before doing so deactivate your modules and then reactivate them after the hardware change/OS reinstall so that you don't need to use up an activation. But rest assured, once you use up your activations you will be given more so your "activations are endless." Rangi Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 A little light reading..... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/ PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
Tango777 Posted March 2, 2017 Author Posted March 2, 2017 I read the light reading. Thank you for the link. However I noticed that in that webpage that every license has 10 activations. I have only activated these planes once before when I bought them, so why do I have 7 left on 2 other planes as I explained above? If this was due to the server, then why did DCS support respond differently to the Su-27 activation vs. the F-15C activation. So when it comes to deactivating modules: I could not boot into Windows due to a major driver malfunction according to my computer's manufacturer. Utilizing Windows GUI was no option. The only option I had was to go into the recovery drive, save the files that I could, and then restore the computer to original factory settings. So what is someone to do in this situation? While trying to activate the F-15C and Su-27, I also activated the A-10C, F-86, M2000, and Viggen and these activated just fine without error within seconds. So my question as earlier in this post is: I have only activated these planes once before and that was when I bought them, so why do I have 7 left on the F-15C and Su-27 as I explained above? Remember I have only activated all of these planes once before, and that was when I bought them. i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
